Gavin Webster
Gavin Webster made his debut at a Gateshead pub in 1993, on the same bill as a then-unknown Ross Noble, and has spent three decades switching between friendly pub philosopher and sharp-tongued rabble-rouser, often with a sardonic ukulele song thrown in. In 2014 he won Best UK Live Stand-Up — the Comedian's Comedian award, voted for by fellow professionals — only the second person ever to take the title. He's appeared on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, taken twelve solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, and had a supporting role in Ken Loach's I, Daniel Blake. Sharp, no-nonsense, and rated highly by the people who'd know best: other comedians.
